Why TheCMO

Skills tell an AI how to market. TheCMO gives it the accounts, the memory and the hands.

Anyone can load marketing skills into a chat now. They help. But a skill only sees what you paste in, forgets it after, and cannot change anything or check whether it worked. That is where TheCMO starts.

Yes, it has skills. They are the floor.

TheCMO knows twenty areas of marketing: Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO, Google profiles, analytics, Shopify, copywriting, content, creative, websites, email, strategy and more. That is over 3,100 lines of written know-how, plus 38 tools that check the work before it ships.

It also knows what the numbers mean. Meta, Google Ads, Analytics, Shopify and call tracking each take credit for a sale in their own way. TheCMO knows which way each one leans, so it does not add them up and call it truth.

A skill pack stops here. Everything below is what a skill pack cannot do.

It is connected to the accounts

In use today: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile, CallRail, Shopify and Vercel.

Every night it reads them for every client. On Google Ads that is 20 reports, including daily results, search terms, clicks and the change history. On Meta it is 22, down to age, placement and region. Analytics adds 14, joined to the ad accounts by campaign. For Shopify stores it reads orders, repeat customers and product costs.

It can act as well as read: 31 kinds of change on Google Ads, 27 on Meta and 10 on Business Profile, plus publishing to your sites. Every one of them waits for approval.

It finds what no single platform will tell you

The expensive problems sit between platforms, or in reports nobody opens. These came from real accounts in the last few weeks.

Analytics + Google Ads

Paid clicks with no campaign behind them

A service business’s Analytics showed 107 paid-search visits and could not name the Google Ads campaign for any of them. The link between the two accounts was broken, so every report crediting ads was guessing. Neither platform flags this on its own.

Google Ads change history

A change nobody on the team made

Google auto-applied one of its own recommendations and removed two targeting settings from live campaigns. Nobody had approved it. It surfaced because TheCMO reads the change history, not just the results.

Google Ads, day by day

A test that was never running

A new headline test had one impression in a week. Everyone assumed it was being tested. The daily numbers said it was not being shown at all.

Meta Ads

Results hiding in the wrong list

A fintech brand’s account had 23 trial starts worth $3,043 in a conversions list the standard report never shows. The same account’s reach read 66,189 when added up ad by ad; the true figure was 36,933, because the same person counts once per ad.

It checks whether the change worked

After an approved change goes live, TheCMO comes back to it. It compares the result with the account’s own history and with the rest of the account, and checks whether anything else changed at the same time. The verdict is won, lost, held or inconclusive.

When there is not enough evidence to say, it says so. It would rather tell you “too early” than call a lucky week a win.

Where the leverage comes from

Every account, every night. A marketer checks the accounts they are worried about. TheCMO checks all of them and raises only what needs a person.

Your whole book in one place. Every client’s numbers sit in the same shape. “Which clients got fewer calls this week?” is one question, not an afternoon of logins.

Your best person’s judgement, everywhere. We teach it your SOPs once, and it follows them on every client, for everyone on the team.

It takes work off you as it earns it. This is the part we are building now. Today it does what you ask, on a schedule if you want one. Next, when your team has approved the same fix for the same reason several times and the numbers held, it will offer to prepare that fix for you, and later to act within a limit you set. Each step offered once, with its evidence.

Straight answers

Is TheCMO just a set of Claude skills or prompts?
No. TheCMO has marketing skills: twenty areas of written know-how, from Google Ads to copywriting. But that is the starting point. It is also connected to your ad, analytics, search and store accounts, checks them every night, remembers every client, makes the changes you approve, and checks whether each one worked.
What can a skill bundle not do?
A skill tells a model how to do a job. It only sees what you paste into the chat, forgets it afterwards, cannot change a live account, and cannot tell you next month whether its advice worked.
Which platforms does TheCMO connect to?
In use today: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, CallRail call tracking, Shopify, and websites on Vercel. Nothing live changes without approval.
